Manufacturing Excellence: Coury Medical’s Integrated Production Capabilities
Coury Medical continues to advance its integrated manufacturing platform for interventional medical devices, combining precision engineering, specialized process expertise, and comprehensive quality control to support the production of guidewires, catheters, sheath systems, balloons, stents, and accessories.
Supported by an ISO 13485-certified quality management system and in-house testing capabilities, Coury maintains close control across the manufacturing process, from raw material processing and core process development to assembly, inspection, and sterilization. This integrated approach helps ensure product consistency, traceability, and reliable supply.
The company has established a broad range of in-house manufacturing technologies, including polymer extrusion, injection molding, laser processing, guidewire grinding and welding, balloon forming and assembly, catheter braiding and lamination, surface coating, and EO sterilization.
In polymer processing, Coury works with more than 50 medical-grade materials, including PA, TPU, PP, PE, PVC, FEP, ETFE, PEEK, and PI. Its extrusion capabilities cover co-extrusion, single- and multi-lumen tubing, braid-reinforced extrusion, profile extrusion, and overcoating, supporting complex catheter and guidewire structures.
Precision manufacturing is further supported by horizontal and vertical injection molding, high-accuracy machining, femtosecond laser cutting, and multi-segment guidewire grinding. Grinding tolerances can reach ±0.005 mm, while laser processing enables the manufacture of fine metallic and polymer components for products such as stents, hypotubes, and guidewires.
Coury also operates dedicated balloon forming, braiding, and spring-winding platforms. These capabilities support compliant, semi-compliant, non-compliant, and high-pressure balloons, as well as reinforced catheter shafts designed to balance flexibility, pushability, torque response, and kink resistance.
In addition, the company has developed hydrophilic and anticoagulant coating technologies for a range of polymer and metal substrates. Automated EO sterilization systems provide real-time monitoring, precise parameter control, and full process traceability.
By bringing critical manufacturing processes together within one quality-controlled platform, Coury Medical is able to support the efficient development and reliable production of high-quality interventional medical devices.
